Catherine is a Registered General Nurse with over 20 years’ clinical experience both in the civilian and military field. She has extensive experience of trauma nursing including posts within large Emergency departments and Minor Injury Units. She is a qualified Emergency Nurse Practitioner and Nurse Prescriber. She also has considerable experience in Practice Nursing and currently works as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner and Nurse Manager in a busy GP practice. Alongside her main role, Catherine also works as part of the GP out of Hours service seeing unscheduled patients presenting with a variety of urgent care needs. She has also served as a Nursing Officer in the Queen Alexandra Royal Army Nursing Corps both in the UK and worldwide.
Catherine manages the nursing team within her practice and is responsible for their performance management and appraisal. As Infection Control Lead nurse she is responsible for overseeing the infection control policy for the practice and the delivery of good infection control principles.
Catherine currently works for Jane James and Associates providing liability reports for use in litigation and is instructed on behalf of both the Claimant and Defendant. She has extensive experience of assessing the needs and care planning for individuals with a variety of physical conditions within the NHS and armed forces including complex orthopaedic conditions, general medical and surgical conditions. She is used to triaging and making decisions regarding the care of acutely unwell clients and is able to expertly analysis protocols and interventions to identify any nursing breach of duty in her liability work.
