Bio:

Liz is a Registered Nurse and has over 18 years of experience. Liz consolidated her training on a medical ward for 18 months and then moved to the community where she trained to be a District Nursing Sister. Within this time, she completed her Community Nursing Degree. Leading a team in the community enabled Liz to deliver and observe a diverse group of care and health packages tailored to meet the needs of patients in their own homes.

Liz worked for Gloucestershire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), and she has been described as a Personal Health Budget Expert, designing pathways in commissioning to enable clients with complex cases in Continuing Healthcare (CHC) to employ their own staff and to deliver packages of care.

Liz managed a Complex Case Team within the CCG for individually funded packages of care. Liz has extensive knowledge in commissioning care packages for patients who have suffered with brain injuries and spinal cord injuries. Liz believes in personalisation and encouraging people with brain injury and spinal cord injuries to achieve mental and social well-being through personalised planning in addition to meeting their physical health needs.

Liz is an able leader and has shown exceptional skills in this area when developing and maintaining the Complex Case Team. Precise report writing and analytical skills are essential in this role to obtaining funding for individuals.

Liz works for Jane James and Associates as an Expert Witness taking instructions from both Claimant and Defendant Solicitors. Liz undertakes full care, aids and equipment reports. Her areas of expertise include brain injury and spinal cord injury, and she also completes Loss of Services reports. Liz has completed the Bond Solon certificates in Excellence in Report Writing, Civil Law and Procedure, Discussions Between Experts, and Courtroom Skills and is due to complete the Cardiff University Bond Solon Civil Expert Certificate in April 2021.
