Kerry-Anne qualified as a paediatric nurse over 15 years ago and has experience of providing specialist care to both acutely unwell and chronically sick children. She has worked at a senior level in both acute and community settings caring for children with a variety of disorders including complex neurological, cardiac, respiratory, childhood diabetes and oncological conditions. In her recent role as service lead for Kent she was responsible for tendering for specialist services to enable the provision of high quality care of disabled children and support for their families. Kerry-Anne has been at the forefront of developing services, recruiting and training support workers and registered nurses throughout Kent to provide complex care for children and their families. More recently she works as a medico-legal paediatric Case Manager.
Kerry-Anne works for Jane James & Associates as a Paediatric Expert compiling full care, aids and equipment reports and liability reports for both Claimant and Defendant. Kerry-Anne has experience of attending Court and presenting cases in front of the Nursing and Midwifery Council. She is Accredited Expert Witness through the Bond Solon/Cardiff University Expert Witness accreditation programme.
She only recently ceased working as the Head of Kent Specialist Community Children’s Nursing Services managing teams of nurses and support staff providing home-based care for over 600 children with complex needs. She therefore has an in depth understanding of the true cost of commissioning and providing community based care for children with long term needs.
Since qualifying, Kerry-Anne has shown commitment to maintaining her continuing professional development, obtaining her Specialist Community Practitioner Degree in 2002 and currently studying for her Masters in Management Studies.
