MEET VICKY LEES

We would like to introduce you to the latest member to join our administrative support team, Medico-legal Administrator Vicky Lees. Vicky has joined us at an exciting time of expansion for JJ&A. You can learn more about her in the short 2-minute read below.

EARLY LIFE

I was born in Bristol, and after graduating from University, I joined Nationwide Building Society’s graduate programme at their headquarters in Swindon.

I spent 13 happy years at Nationwide and gained a wide range of knowledge and experience in several business areas including project management, finance, corporate strategy, risk management, customer services and operational risk.

I loved my time there but left in 2012 to start a family. My daughter was born in 2013 and my son arrived two years later.

RAISING CHILDREN

Although I have been a stay-at-home mum for the last ten years while the children were small, I took on part-time roles, during that time, and became a parent governor at their primary school in Malmesbury where we live.

However, my children are now ten and eight, and my thoughts turned to doing something for me and taking on a more substantial role again. As luck would have it, my good friend (and PA to Luci Lloyd, Director of Operations at Jane James and Associates) Meg Rhys mentioned the perfect part-time administrator role at JJ&A.

A round of interviews later, and I got the job!

ALONG CAME THE PERFECT ROLE

Reporting to JJ&A’s Training and Development Coordinator, Charlotte Doel, the role is perfect. It’s flexible enough to fit around my children but also interesting, challenging and rewarding. I can also work from home (which was strange, at first as I’ve always been office-based) but I’ve come to value its flexibility.

I currently work part-time supporting seven JJ&A expert witnesses; providing administrative support, acting as a liaison between the experts and solicitors and ensuring reports are completed on time. I like to think I’m the glue holding the process together.

Working for an expert witness reporting company suits me perfectly as I’m process-driven and extremely well-organised - my experience at Nationwide and as a busy working mum has seen to that.

I’m now two months in and enjoying the job immensely. Charlotte, Luci and the whole team at JJ&A are wonderful and have made me feel at home. I’ve not found it at all daunting and the thing I’m most looking forward to getting my teeth into as my role develops is proofreading my first report, as I’m a real stickler for detail.

IN MY SPARE TIME

When I’m not working, I can be found ferrying my children to their various activities (netball, football, swimming, cricket, piano to name but a few!) around Wiltshire. I do manage to find some time for myself, though, and enjoy walking (especially with my husband) and playing Bridge twice a week - although I’m not very good at it… yet.

I am excited for the future and looking forward to the new challenges ahead as my medico-legal administrative role at JJ&A grows.
